My Journey

I am Walter Ledoux, founder and owner of Ledoux Fitness in Houston, TX. I am certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and have over ten years of professional experience in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, strength and conditioning coach, and physical therapy assistant. I am also a former collegiate basketball player.

My journey to becoming a business owner and personal trainer started long before I obtained my degrees and certifications. I started playing competitive sports at the age of 5 and was led by great coaches who instilled in me the values of discipline, determination, accountability, and perseverance. I relied on those core principles to motivate me throughout my athletic career.

After college, I suffered two significant injuries that prevented me from being physically active for two years, let alone from competing at an elite level in sports again. I went through countless days of rehab, which led to frustration and feeling like I lost a part of myself. I began to lose confidence in myself physically and mentally, but I relied on my core principles to positively influence my attitude through the healing process and ultimately regained my strength. From this experience, I learned that physical fitness is about more than being an athlete, having a certain physique, or being able to lift heavy weights. Physical fitness is about never taking for granted the ability to do something as simple as walking and taking care of my body to sustain my health.

Fitness is not just a job for me. It is a way of life. I firmly believe experience is the best teacher. My life experiences have given me the passion to inspire others to become the best version of themselves through a life of physical fitness. I am not just a guide on this journey, but I have been on the journey myself. Whether you just want to lose a few pounds, are recovering from injury or want to maintain your health, I hope you will choose to let me take this journey with you.
